Foraging for Fire

Details

Come foraging for fire! You'll learn to identify and process different types of tinder from trees and plants while taking a scenic walk and collecting materials along the way. Then, practice fire starting and building with the materials we collected. We will also cover fire safety and Leave No Trace fire ethics. This class does cancel when high winds or thunderstorms are forecasted. You will receive an email with details on specific meeting location at Lake Raleigh 48 hours before class. Please wear and bring the following: -clothes suitable for conditions that you can walk, bend and sit in -adequate sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) -shoes you don't mind getting dirty -a small bag with water and snacks -bug spray if you are sensitive to bugs -if you have a knife, feel free to bring it
