Core Sound Sea Kayaking Expedition

Details

We'll load up sleek and stable sea kayaks with everything we'll need, and shove off for an adventure through turquoise waters. This 5 day expedition is a chance to explore a remote, rugged and uninhabited section of North Carolina's outer banks. On Cape Lookout, you can tour the lighthouse keepers quarters, swim in the surf, wade in crystal blue waters or nap in one of the breezy picnic shelters. On Shackleford banks, we'll watch the wild ponies meander through camp, stroll for shells on the beach and have a campfire beneath the stars. Further north, we'll explore a wilder, more remote territory where there are no roads or houses as far as the eye can see. Ages 16+, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Sea kayaking is often strenuous. Participants MUST be able to wet exit and be physically able to re-enter their kayak with assistance in deep water. Provided gear: -sea kayak -paddle -life jacket -spray skirt -2 dry bags Please provide your own: -backpacking size tent -sleeping bag -sleeping pad -food More information about what to bring and what to expect once you sign up.
