Wilderness Survival for Backpackers

Are you worried you won't know what to do if things go wrong on the trail? Are you bringing extra stuff 'just in case?' Stop packing your fears and give yourself peace of mind with knowledge and skills you need to stay alive. This class is focused on wilderness survival for backpackers using the tools and equipment you'll likely have with you to improvise and overcome should things go awry. Here is a sampling of what you'll learn and practice: -What should (and shouldn't) be in your repair and survival kit while backpacking -Shelters: need to know knots, tarp rigging college, natural shelters for extreme conditions -Fire: What to do if your stove breaks? Fire starting, building and use for cooking -Water: Sourcing, treating and storing water without a filter This is a 6 hour, intensive class. Be prepared to walk, crawl, bend, and sit. Wear layers appropriate for weather conditions and bring sunscreen, water, big repellant and lunch. You are welcome to to bring your pack with your backpacking gear. *I am now accepting in-person payment via either cash or Venmo. You can register for class on here and pay before class starts* 10-20% of class proceeds donated to Triangle Land Conservancy
